Update from Chico Cloth:
“Last November we were setting seed, and by April we were ready to harvest. The success of our plots proved that we can grow a flax crop through the winter. We continue improving processing flax, making linen paper, and planting natural dye plants to show at Fiber Fusion.
As a quest speaker at the National Flax and Linen Symposium this August in MA, Sandy Fisher will be putting our project on the map, meeting others to create a Flax industry here in the United States.
Future plans: acquire flax processing machinery; establishing a local mill, sight which has been offered and two research plots to create a superior quality flax. For additional information, contact Sandy Fisher <sandyfisher@chico.com>
